Lukaku’s strike rate a threat to CR7 record breaking
Romelu Lukaku could break Cristiano Ronaldo’s potential record.
The portugese forward Christiano Ronaldo is now just two goals away from equalling the record for most goals scored for a men’s international team, but it’s possible that another current player might be gunning for him when he takes the crown.
Christiano Ronaldo on 107 goals for Portugal, it appears just a matter of time before he breaks Iran legend Ali Daei record.who scored 109. It could even happen at Euro 2020, with Ronaldo having at least two more games to play.
Lukaku has an incredible 63 goals in 96 Belgium games, making his international corresponds even more prolific than Ronaldo’s.
Lukaku is moving up the goals a lot faster than the Portuguese forward did. At almost 100 caps, the Belgian has over 60 goals, while Ronaldo had only around 40 after the same number of games. Christiano is seven years older than Romelo lukaku and if he can maintain his efficiency in front of goal, he could well end up claiming the record Christiano Ronaldo is on the brink of.
Christiano Ronaldo has been doing it for over a decade, while Romelo Lukaku has had just few seasons, it remains to be seen if he can match the Portuguese man for long.
Now, there’s a Belgian striker reminding us that history doesn’t stop.
