It is time to analyze our bets for 2022. From our perspective, these ten artists have what it takes to break the mold and finally reach the position they deserve on the scene. Ready to meet them? Let’s go with it!
Nick Nunez is an Australian DJ and producer who is taking the raw scene by storm. His way of making music is super original, and we believe that distinguishing himself from absolutely all the trends heard so far is what is catapulting him to the top. He works at Gearbox Digital, a label in which he has innovated beyond measure combining rawstyle with other genres such as acid techno, trance, DnB or even complextro. Although he doesn’t release many songs, songs like “Take Control”, “ACID TECH” or “Go Insane” are enough to show his quality and magnificent sound design.. His next work will be “Time Machine EP”, and we have very high expectations for him.
Without a doubt, one of the talents who has climbed the most this last year in the world of bass. Standing out above all in the melodic aspect, the South Korean has given touches of future riddim, color bass and even drum & bass. And all of these tracks with incredible sound quality for someone who has been on the map pretty much since his success in the 2019 Disciple Remix Contest, signing to the same label soon after. He has also gone through Circus, Rushdown, Welcome (showing the most aggressive version of him) and Monstercatamong other top labels and it seems that it has not yet reached the ceiling. We will follow you closely!
He defines himself as a young kid who has been doing mediocre hardcore since 2018. We agree with him on the part that he is a kid, because EQUAL2 is only 17 years old. But nevertheless; we pretty much disagree that his uptempo is mediocre.
In addition to having several unofficial extreme tracks uploaded on his SoundCloud, this guy had a turning point in his music career last year when he joined the Partyraiser Recordings team with the EP of “ Stone Cold Killer”. In fact, he recently released another EP titled “KRUNK”( analyzed on the web ), in which the main course is the design of sick and distorted kicks. Let’s see what he surprises us with in 2022!
out of nowhere with a strong but euphoric trap style, collaborating with the likes of ARMNHMR, Krane and Juelz , which has given him a permanent spot in Sable Valley. The Australian has been noticed and everything points to his consecration this year as has already happened with other artists from the RL Grime label. Heimanu has the springboard under his feet and we blindly trust his take off. The hardwave sound is emerging and he is one of the pioneers, so everything points in the same direction.
We have already talked about him, and we think that this year will be his year. And the year could not have started better than announcing a collab with Eptic and that has been announced for the Forbbiden Kingdom. In 2020 he already left us very good things like his “Chop Box” EP or his remix to ID by MONXX and Automhate. We saw his jump through the Disciple Round Table with “Lost Boy” EP, with hits like Miss Riddim or Space Cowboy. And suddenly, his studio album, “Black Hole Final Chapter”. Also that his debut at the Drop In Bass in Paris as a DJ has opened doors for him, like the Bootshaus Blacklist. We do not lose sight of what this artist can happen to us, and we expect many more surprises.
This trio has everything it takes to crown in style in 2022. Although it is true that their previous trajectory has not exactly gone unnoticed, we believe that they have not yet reached as high as they can, this being the year in which who, perhaps, manage to establish themselves as three of the best artists in that techno scene with hints of the mainstream that is working so well today. Time will tell! In the meantime, without a doubt, we will closely follow their next releases.
The young Belgian artist has left details of his potential as a producer in the past year. With a warm welcome from the This Never Happened family led by Lane 8, Jerro carved out a niche for himself on the label by signing his debut album “Coming Home” last October.
In addition to his productions, he also demonstrates self-confidence in his melodic house sets, giving his works exquisite musical quality. This 2022 will continue to grow musically and will give us new releases that will make him grow as an artist. In a short time it will become one of the references of the genre.
The American has been a whirlwind throughout 2021 based on house and more house. We have seen her appear alongside names of the size of Sofi Tukker, Gorgon City and Tycho, among others whom she has remixed with beautiful and above all very danceable versions. But he has also captivated with his singles and his unmistakable piano on songs like “Say A Little Prayer”, “Take My Hand” or “Believer”, and has put his mark on labels like Mom + Pop and Insomniac, even Spinnin’ Deep. It is clear that we should not take our eyes off this artist, because she can go very far with her talent.
Mainline Magic Orchestra
If you have had the opportunity to see a show by the group from Barcelona , Mainline Magic Orchestra, you will know that they are a big deal. The quartet made up of Daniel 2000, JP Sunshine, Nile Fee and John Heaven has already called the attention of such important pillars as Boiler Romo, Mixmag or Primavera Sound.
While his style is based on an intersection between house club and high-quality tribal percussion, MMO also creates unpredictable performances where uncomfortably fun and danceable go hand in hand. “Tettsui EP” is the first project with which the collective has premiered this year.
Tim van Werd
This Dutch talent has managed to find a place for himself on Nicky Romero’s label, Protocol Recordings, The magic of their productions marked by progressive house, has caused positive sensations in this last year.
The two EPs released on Protocol, debuting with “Who You Are” and “Icarus”, has shown his versatility as an artist and the creative potential he has. We are looking forward to what this new year will be like for van Werd, who is predicted to have a long and fruitful musical career. We leave you a good proof of it!
